Core Problem Statement
Travel is one of the most carbon intensive activities that consumers regularly make choices about. A significant consequence of this fact is that seemingly small choices in itinerary planning can have outsize effects on global warming.
Agenda Overview
Join FlyBetter’s tiny team in a discussion about the details of itinerary choices that matter. Explore a prototype of an education website intended to popularize these ideas. Additionally there will be an opportunity to give feedback on a couple of early stage mockups that integrate GHG emissions into the booking process in a way that shifts the current paradigms of itinerary booking user experience.
Ideal Participant
We are looking for attendees interested in an interactive session ready to learn and give feedback. We are also interested in building out our team and would love to have people join our session who would be interested in contributing to the project.
What to Expect - Location and Size
We have found a larger event space called The Lab near the 16th Street BART station and so have increased the maximum number of people who can attend.
What to Expect - Agenda Details
We will spend the first 20 to 30 minutes discussing the concepts behind the emissions of itinerary choices and their subtleties. We will then have the participants explore the education website and give feedback both individually and through group discussion this will also be 20-30 minutes. Next we will go through a mockup early stage prototype of two versions of the booking user experience and get group feedback on the designs. This stage will also be 20-30 minutes in a group interaction discussion format. Lastly those who are interested in contributing to the project can stay for a discussion with the founders.
