Deal Flow: NYC's First VC Hackathon
βπ Event Description
βNew York is getting its first VC hackathon, and you're building for the people who write the checks.
βDeal Flow is a one-day, in-person hackathon hosted by localhost:nyc and VCLab. You get 9 hours to build working products for the real problems VCs face every day. Partners from NYC's top funds judge live, and the best teams leave with intros to those funds.
βProblem Statement
βVenture capital runs on spreadsheets, gut feel and endless inbox triage. Firms move billions of dollars with tools that haven't changed in a decade. Your challenge is to build software that helps VCs find better companies, make faster decisions and support their founders after the check clears.
βThe Challenge Theme
βSourcing: finding breakout founders before everyone else does
βDiligence: market maps, competitive analysis and memo drafting
βPortfolio ops: helping funds support their companies at scale
βLP reporting: making fund updates less painful and more useful
βDeal pipeline and CRM workflows that VCs will actually use
βWhat to Expect
β9 hours of focused building, 9 AM to 6 PM
βReal VC problems, with investors in the room to test your ideas against
