Reflections from SG Environmental Activists

Join Wei Lin Ong as she shares insights from her thesis research — which explored how connection to nature motivates and sustains environmental activists.

In her thesis, Wei Lin unpacks what motivates people to engage in environmental activism, and the role that a close connection to nature might play in sustaining that engagement. Through qualitative interviews with 11 environmental activists, she studied how their relationships with nature interplay with other motivations, such as learning, identity and community.

Come ponder and share about what drives people to be so passionate about environment and sustainability issues and consider how you can sustain your interest and motivation in your work in sustainability!
