About Event

A little time to care for the people who care for others.

Working in social impact can be meaningful and emotionally demanding. I’m hosting this virtual creative wellness session to offer a little space to pause, release, and make room for something joyful. Time to take care of those who take care of others!

Join me and other do gooders for a virtual guided journaling, drawing, and origami — no experience nor artistic talent required!

How to join & donate

This is a virtual community event and there are 2 steps to join and donate:

  1. Registration for the event is free right here on Luma.

  2. Donation is appreciated though not required for attending the event. There are 2 ways to donate:

    • Donate via Givebutter (recommended) - tax deduction information included

    • Donate via Luma - any amount is appreciated, but tax deduction will not be autmatically included.

What to expect

  • Time for yourself through prompted journaling or free drawing

  • Connection with others working in social impact

  • Learning how to make origami cranes with flapping wings!

I’m also bringing my approach to facilitation into this gathering: creating a thoughtful flow with space to reflect, connect, and create. Along the way, you’ll experience a different kind of workshop, where the focus is on making time for yourself.

I’ll share creative practices I enjoy and use for my own well-being. I’m not a therapist, and this gathering is for creative exploration and connection, not therapy or mental health treatment.

Supporting the Umbrella Center

Supporting survivors of domestic violence is a cause I care deeply about. In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, this event is also a fundraiser for the Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services.

A program of BHcare, the Umbrella Center provides free, confidential support to people affected by domestic violence in Greater New Haven and the Lower Naugatuck Valley. Services include crisis support, emergency shelter, safety planning, counseling, and advocacy.

A representative from the Umbrella Center will join us to share about its mission and work.

About the host

Hi, I’m Young Lê Do of New Lêaf Strategic. I help nonprofit, social-enterprise, and B Corp leadership teams find shared direction, mitigate critical challenges through coordinated team effort and alignment so they can accomplish their mission that makes a positive impact on the world.

This gathering is a chance for me to share a different part of my practice: making time for creativity, reflection, and connection.

Connect with me on LinkedIn.

I look forward to enjoying this creative wellness evening with you!
