What International Students Wish They Knew Earlier in the Netherlands
What International Students Wish They Knew Earlier in the Netherlands
A welcoming roundtable to share stories, experiences and the real challenges of student life in a new country.
Starting your journey as an international student can feel exciting, but also confusing and overwhelming. Many students go through similar experiences, yet most feel they are going through it alone.
This session is an open space to:
• share your story
• listen to others
• reflect together
• learn what others wish they knew earlier
• feel understood and connected
No lectures. No slides. No pressure.
Just real conversations in a small, safe group.
In this roundtable we will talk about:
• What many international students wish they knew earlier
• The emotional side of moving to a new country
• Why the first months often feel confusing or heavy
• The ups and downs of studying in the Netherlands
• Identity, confidence and finding your direction
• The shared experiences that no one usually talks about
We want to hear your voice too.
Who is this for?
International students from all Dutch universities who want:
• a space to share their story
• connection with others who understand their experience
• clarity and confidence in their new context
• a more grounded start in the Netherlands
• a community where they can feel seen and heard
Format
A small, welcoming circle on Google Meet.
Everyone is invited to talk, share and reflect.
Why join?
Because you are not alone in your experience.
Because other students feel the same.
Because sharing stories makes the journey easier.
Because together we can make sense of this transition.
