Write to Read Vol XI: Dog Years
Does being a human come naturally to you? Do you feel crushed by all the lives you want to live? Do you still perform autopsies on conversations you've had a lifetime ago?
You’re invited to an evening salon where unspoken words find their way to the page—and to the stage.
Our theme for this round is Dog Years:
1. What cat or dog life are you on? Reinvention or rebirth?
2. Man's best friend
3. Old "owners" (lovers or family)
Welcome to Write to Read, an anonymous storytelling salon where you witness people's never-before-told confessions.
You’ll be invited to write an unsent letter — to a past love, a beloved pet, a future self, a secret you’ve never spoken. Then, the magic unfolds: you'll read a letter written by someone else and witness a guest artist transform it into a moving live performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Unsent Letter Mailbox? The Unsent Letter Mailbox is a temporary public installation and live storytelling project that has been collecting anonymous letters since February. It creates a safe space for people to express thoughts they've never been able to say out loud — to ex-lovers, estranged family members, future selves, or anyone else.
How many people have participated so far? Over 1,000 people have written letters to the Unsent Letter Mailbox since it began, creating a collection of shared human experiences and emotions.
What does "you must earn your write to read" mean? To participate, you write one anonymous letter, which earns you the right to read one letter written by someone else. It's a conversation — your vulnerability in turn for another's.
What exactly will I be asked to do? You'll write one anonymous letter to anyone about anything that's been left unsaid, then read aloud one letter written by another participant. Both activities are completely anonymous.
