FROM THE FRONTLINE: WHAT DO LEGAL CLIENTS ACTUALLY WANT?
We are excited to invite you to the next First Tuesday, on 4 August, 15:00–18:00.
This time we share from the frontline: three perspectives from those at the forefront of the client-driven change. Clients are already arriving with AI-generated drafts, due diligence is being rebuilt end to end, and on the true frontline of Silicon Valley, compliance has gone from afterthought to selling point.
Sarah Eldon Cullen, startup and VC attorney at Mace, shares from behind the scenes of the shift that has already happened in advising innovative startup clients, where the demand is now for lawyers to "review on top" of the client's own AI-generated draft. Sarah goes into what actually lies behind that question, and what it tells us about where the value of legal advice is moving.
Then: due diligence, rebuilt. A panel with three seasoned M&A practitioners rebuilding due diligence from three different angles:
Daniel Loft is a Nordic M&A lawyer with more than 10 years of experience at leading Danish and Norwegian law firms, mostly for global and Nordic private equity sponsors. From 1 August, he is general counsel to a PE-owned company and running an independent practice focusing solely on add-on M&A, due diligence and exit readiness for mid-sized PE-portfolio companies, on fixed fees rather than hourly rates.
Maria Rosenstand Bruun is the Founder and CEO of Seecon, an AI-powered platform for financial due diligence and deal preparation. She previously spent more than a decade advising on M&A, IPOs and financial due diligence at Deloitte in London and Copenhagen.
Moderated by the one and only Laurits Schmidt Christensen, who spent a decade as a partner at one of Denmark's leading M&A law firms and most recently as Group General Counsel at Ramboll.
And finally, from the most talked about startup of the moment: Gustav Bang, CEO of Complir, fresh from securing investment from Y Combinator, on what is actually happening in Silicon Valley.
We are grateful to be hosted at Corti AI this time, a company operating at the forefront of deep tech innovation.
