Parakeet's Fresh Works, a reading of works-in-progress

Parakeet is a writer incubator with a year-long intensive program designed to help writers get their books out of their brains and into the world. Born from the mind of Beth Pickens (art doula) and Carolynn Pennypacker-Riggs (art phenom) the program provides structure and nourishment for the creation of new work.

Fresh Works is an evening of authors reading excerpts that are still in development. Come hear writers break new ground in genres ranging from speculative fiction to memoir to horror. The event is free and open to the public.
