Flexy Fundamentals: Intro to Splits
Flexy fundamentals: Intro to splits
Join us on Tuesday Sep 9 to learn the fundamentals of stretching and splits with Jura Hau!
Jura (they/ them) is a queer international aerialist, community organizer, coach, and massage therapist, from Canada now based here in Lisbon. They have a background of over 8 years in personal training, coaching, and education in Kinesiology.
This workshop is designed for all levels of beginner flexibility, whether you can't touch your toes, or if you need some consistency in squaring your hips.
The workshop is 1.5 hrs long and has 45 minutes of theory and 45 minutes of practical, guided session.
Limit 15 people to ensure that everyone gets the attention they need.
Bring a notebook!
In the theory portion, we'll be able to go over how to design your own program for your own level, and troubleshoot particular areas of a split.
We will go over human anatomy, biomechanics of the split, and different progressions. This is perfect for those who may be stuck at a certain part, or those who don't know where to start.
In the practical guided portion, I'll lead you through my splits routine, which is a wonderful way to work your way through getting the strength and flexibility to safely achieve and eventually maintain your front and middle splits.
Jura also teaches every Saturday at Bus Paragem for beginner aerials, and Wednesday nights at Jaya Aerial Lab for mixed level straps. Connect with them @jurahau on IG.
They also co-run @Bi.Mosaic, a bi+ community events group based here in Lisbon!
