Advancing Ibogaine Medical Access & Awareness: A conversation with Christin Slough hosted by Journey Clinical
When “thinking it through” just isn’t enough: A Journey Clinical therapist interviews Christin Slough about her experience with ibogaine treatment and how Americans for Ibogaine is shaping the future of ibogaine treatment in the U.S.**
Bren Seed, LPC of Ebb and Flow Therapy, a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy provider who partners with Journey Clinical to support her clients, sits down with ibogaine advocate Christin Slough to ask about her personal experience at an ibogaine clinic in Mexico and her advocacy work with Americans for Ibogaine ([https://www.americansforibogaine.org]). Christin has been working with AFI and has had a front-row seat to the efforts to medicalize ibogaine in the United States.
Christin received ibogaine treatment in order to heal the effects of vicarious trauma after her husband came home with PTSD following combat and an unjust incarceration. Her husband was later the recipient of a presidential pardon, but the family’s journey back to wholeness had just begun.
Americans for Ibogaine understands that there is no magic pill and is on a mission to roll out this powerful treatment the right way, with a commitment to the therapeutic process and with respect for—and in collaboration with—indigenous resources and relationships.
We will discuss how Journey Clinical clinicians fit into these efforts and the future of the therapeutic use of this plant medicine.
