Product For Learning with Ed Fidoe, cofounder, The London Interdisciplinary School
At our next meetup we'll be welcoming Ed Fidoe, cofounder of The London Interdisciplinary School (LIS) for a fireside chat.
LIS is a challenger university that organises around problems not subjects. It opened its flagship BASc degree in 2021 and now offers a range of programmes, including a MASc in Complex Systems and Problems, MASc is AI & Collective Intelligence and MASc in Educational Futures. This year they also opened their distinctive take on an MBA.
We'll be exploring with Ed what it takes to launch a new university and how LIS have approached expanding its portfolio. We'll also get his perspective on how AI is impacting education and what it means people need to learn.
As well as the chance to quiz Ed, there will be the usual opportunity to get to know others building new learning products in breakout discussions.
Our hosts are Brighteye, the most active learning and future of work-focused venture capital fund in Europe who invest in Seed and Series A stage companies. Their offices are in Notting Hill.
The evening will be hosted by Matt Walton, coach and fractional EdTech product leader.

Ed Fidoe is the founder and CEO at LIS. Previously, Ed co-founded a 4-18 school in Stratford called School 21 and the UK’s leading oracy education charity called Voice 21. He also consulted at McKinsey & Co., ran a theatre production company, and played in 80s hit TV show Woof! Ed has advised institutions including Cambridge, LSE and Teach First.
