​Each session we'll focus on an era of music, with selected albums chosen to represent the sound, spirit, and cultural atmosphere of that time.

​What to expect

​The first night will serve as the beginning of a larger series, moving through the American musical canon by decade: jazz, country, gospel, soul, rock, pop, hip hop, folk, electronic, etc.

​Matt will give a short introduction before each record: what to listen for, where the album sits in the broader story of American music, and why it still matters. Then we’ll all grab a drink and listen.

​6:00pm - Arrive and grab a drink and some lite bites

​6:30pm - Introduce Record #1

​7:30pm - Intermission and chatting

​8:00pm - Introduce Record #2

​9:00pm - Event officially ends, but feel free to stay and chat

​This is not meant to be a strictly academic exercise. It's more of a listening party with a few good records, a few good drinks, and a group of people interested learning a bit about music.
