Records at The Rosedale: Session #1
Each session we'll focus on an era of music, with selected albums chosen to represent the sound, spirit, and cultural atmosphere of that time.
What to expect
The first night will serve as the beginning of a larger series, moving through the American musical canon by decade: jazz, country, gospel, soul, rock, pop, hip hop, folk, electronic, etc.
Matt will give a short introduction before each record: what to listen for, where the album sits in the broader story of American music, and why it still matters. Then we’ll all grab a drink and listen.
Schedule
6:00pm - Arrive and grab a drink and some lite bites
6:30pm - Introduce Record #1
7:30pm - Intermission and chatting
8:00pm - Introduce Record #2
9:00pm - Event officially ends, but feel free to stay and chat
This is not meant to be a strictly academic exercise. It's more of a listening party with a few good records, a few good drinks, and a group of people interested learning a bit about music.
Please Note: Members of The Rosedale Society may bring a plus one.
