Prof. Liya Rong
President of the American Weston Academy; Co-Founder and Executive Dean of the BIBS
Prof. Rong is a leading advocate for interdisciplinary legal and business education between China and the US. She initiated and co-founded the Sino-US Policy and Law Research Center and the School of Transnational Law of Peking University from 2005 to 2015, and served as the founding acting dean, teaching courses of the Juris Doctor (JD) program in American law.
She has served as a Special Advisor to the President of Cornell University, a Special Advisor to the President of University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an Assistant to the President of Chongqing University.
She graduated from Harvard Business School, Kennedy School, Law School, China University of Political Science and Law, and received a doctorate from the University of Michigan. She has taught at Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Michigan, and Harvard University, and served as the publisher of Harvard China Review at Harvard University. Her main works include "Tax Competition in Developed and Developing Countries", and her translation works include: "Mother of Invention" by Drew Faust (28th President of Harvard University), "An Optimistic Heart" by Jeffrey Lehman (11th President of Cornell University), and "The Real Romney", a biography of the 2012 US presidential candidate.

Dr. Huican Zhu

Dr. Huican Zhu is a renowned technology entrepreneur, investor, and computer vision researcher with deep expertise in internet infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and venture capital. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Amino Capital, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm focused on backing high-growth technology startups and transformative innovations.
Before founding Amino Capital, Dr. Zhu joined Google in 2000 and contributed to several groundbreaking projects, including serving as one of the pioneers of Google Image Search. He was also recognized as Google's first Chinese Senior Engineer and senior technical manager. From 2010 to 2012, he served as Chief Architect and General Manager of Infrastructure at Tencent, where he led major large-scale systems and infrastructure initiatives.

Dr. Sue Xu has been actively involved in seed and Series A funding rounds since 2012, contributing to the success of around 20 unicorns and over 45 companies valued at more than $100 million. Her investment focus spans data moats, network effects, and domain-agnostic opportunities. She has successfully guided startups from inception to unicorn status across sectors such as Generative AI, Consumer, SaaS, and Frontier tech.
She has also addressed the United Nations during UNGA in 2024 on the role of AI in combating human trafficking and promoting the welfare of women and children. Lu Zhou

Lu Zhou is a first generation immigrant from China who came to the US on a college scholarship more than two decades ago, after establishing herself as a savvy teenage entrepreneur teaching English in Chinese schools. After graduation and as the Chinese economy grew, she moved to New York City, landed a job on Wall Street and became highly sought-after by many American companies to help them enter and invest in China. She eventually went on to earn her Masters of Science in International Relations at NYU, and was, at the time, the youngest person to present at the United Nations in 2010.
She has worked in private equity for more than a decade and raised hundreds of millions of dollars for many businesses including the largest gigafactory in New York State.

Yingchao Zhang

Dr. Yingchao Zhang, widely known as “Dr. YZ,” is a distinguished Chinese American technology executive, AI innovator, entrepreneur, and community leader with more than two decades of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, enterprise systems, and artificial intelligence. Originally trained as a physicist, he earned a Ph.D. in High Energy Nuclear Physics from Stony Brook University and a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China before transitioning into the technology industry in 1997.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Zhang has led major technology and digital transformation initiatives across startups, research institutions, and large enterprise environments, including key leadership roles at NetScout supporting Fortune 500 clients. He currently serves as Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of opAIda.ai, a Princeton-based AI company focused on delivering secure, scalable, and cost-effective enterprise AI solutions.
Beyond his achievements in technology and business, Dr. Zhang is also a respected public servant and longtime advocate for community engagement and educational equity. He has served in elected local government positions, including as a school board member, and has held leadership roles in numerous Chinese American organizations.
