Join us for a special fireside chat with Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, in conversation with Prof. Ramesh Raskar. This dialogue will highlight how developments in artificial intelligence are opening pathways for international students to engage in education, skilling, and entrepreneurial ventures that transcend borders. For students and entrepreneurs at MIT, Harvard, and beyond, the session offers insights into how policy, technology, and innovation ecosystems worldwide can create new opportunities for research collaboration, startup building, and career advancement. It’s a chance to learn how global talent can thrive in shaping the next generation of AI-driven education and enterprise.
Shri Jayant Chaudhary is the current Indian Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, leading national programs to integrate AI into youth education and entrepreneurship. He has pioneered initiatives like the “AI for Entrepreneurship” module and the SOAR (Skilling for AI Readiness) program, aiming to equip millions of young Indians—including school students and rural youth—with practical AI skills and entrepreneurial mindset.
AI in Education
Chaudhary leads national efforts to make India the world’s largest “AI-ready” school population, focusing on practical application and accessible training for young learners.
Spearheaded the SOAR initiative, embedding AI awareness and skills across government-sponsored skilling schemes; these offer short-term certifications to school and college students.
He enabled public-private partnerships with Intel, IBM, Microsoft, and Google to develop hands-on AI curriculum materials, bootcamps, and hackathons for schoolchildren and teachers.
The CBSE-AI curriculum, introduced in partnership with Intel, brought real-world AI learning experiences to thousands of students in India.
AI for Entrepreneurship
Under his ministry, the “AI for Entrepreneurship” module was launched, training 1 lakh youth by 2025 in AI-driven business fundamentals, problem-solving, and startup innovation.
Program content is accessible to both urban and rural learners and focused on breaking down AI concepts for practical entrepreneurial use.
Champions Startup India, Skill India, and the Atal Innovation Mission to build an ecosystem, providing mentorship, funding, and exposure for over a million new Indian entrepreneurs.
Jayant emphasizes sustainability, purpose-driven innovation, and economic inclusion through these AI-powered entrepreneurship and skilling programs.
