Council Capital x Women on Boards Project present How to Diligence a VC Fund

Every year, more operators, executives, and angels look to become LPs in venture funds. Many don’t know how to find the right fund or diligence it the way they’d diligence a startup or a public market stock. Knowing what to ask and what to look for when evaluating a fund manager makes all the difference when investing in venture as an LP. And done well, your LP relationships can open the door to advisory & board seats.

Who Should Attend? Executives, operators, family office LPs, and HNWIs considering their first (or next) fund commitment, as well as leaders building toward advisory and board roles.

What We'll Cover:

  • The 5 Pillars of fund evaluation

  • The pro-level questions institutional LPs ask that most first-time LPs never think to

  • How to position yourself as a value-add LP that GPs want on their cap table, not just a check

  • How fund & LP relationships can lead to advisory and board seats through fund portfolio companies
