PauseAI Anchorage is holding a talk focused on the risks of developing smarter-than-human AI and what people can do about it, followed by an audience Q&A. We will also leave time for attendees to write letters to Alaska's congressional delegation; we will supply materials!

​AI companies don't want you to have a say in your future.

​They are racing to build powerful AI systems that they do not understand and cannot control. Most leading AI experts say this could even lead to human extinction. Hundreds of top experts and other prominent figures are now demanding a global ban on the creation of artificial superintelligence, at least until it can be made safely and with the consent of the public. Our lawmakers need to act with similar urgency, and it's our job, as a community, to make sure they are on the same page as we are.
