Abstract:
Venture capital is the tool that has supported the creation and growth of the leading companies that now influence the contemporary economy and society, such as Apple, Alphabet/Google, Amazon, NVIDIA, SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic. During the meeting, we will discuss how this unique area of finance works, its underlying logic, how investment processes operate, the characteristics commonly required of companies, as well as the red flags, most common mistakes, ethical dilemmas, and limitations that characterize the venture capital industry.
Speaker: Raffaele Mauro
Raffaele Mauro - Partner at Primo Space, a deep tech venture capital fund focused on the space economy. He previously served as Managing Director at Endeavor Italy, where he supported high-tech and scale-up companies on an international level. Raffaele holds an MPA from Harvard University, a Ph.D. from Bocconi and attended the Singularity University at NASA Ames. Raffaele is a Kauffman Fellow, a Karman Fellows and former Aspen Junior Fellow, he is also a business angel and serves in multiple corporate boards. Raffaele is a published author at Harvard Business Review - Italy and wrote the books “Hacking Finance”, “Quantum Computing” and “I cancelli del cielo”.
