About HOISZN and 4A Centre
Established in 1996, 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art is Australia’s premier institution for documenting and exhibiting contemporary art from the Asian diaspora. Located in the heart of Sydney’s Haymarket, 4A fosters critical cultural dialogue between Australia and the wider Asian region. By commissioning bold new works and amplifying underrepresented voices, the Centre acts as a vital bridge for cross-cultural exchange, challenging artistic boundaries while honoring the complex histories of migration and identity that shape our modern landscape.
HOISZN is a quarterly art and design magazine based in Naarm/Melbourne, dedicated to celebrating the talents of Asian-Australian creatives. Independently created, designed, and produced, HOISZN seeks to amplify perspectives that enrich our cultural landscape.
We collaborate closely with artists, writers, creatives, businesses, and organisations to bolster our presence and create opportunities and spaces for members of our community to thrive. We’re passionate about fostering creative talent, celebrating heritage, and redefining the future of Asian-Australian art and culture.

⚫🟡🔴 HOISZN and 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art acknowledges the Gadigal people, the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, work and create. We recognise the enduring connections between First Nations people and the land, waters, culture and communities that have existed for over 60,000 years. We pay our respects to Elders past and present. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
