đź—˝Civics Club Discussion: Universal Basic Income w Dylan Hirsch-Shell
This discussion will be led by mayoral candidate Dylan Hirsch-Shell (https://www.dylanforsfmayor.com/)
The Citizen Club is a bi-weekly supportive space for folks that have decided to explore and experiment with Active Citizenship in their own lives.
First and foremost, the Citizen Club is a place to meet and connect with others that are exploring their own versions of active citizenship. It is a safe place to connect, share each other's latest aspirations, thoughts and experiments, ask for ideas or support, and bring others along into your personal exploration whenever possible.
Discussions are community-member led facilitated discussion on a wide variety of topics, ranging from policy-forward debates on housing in SF, to philosophical discussions around responsible citizenship. Activism are volunteer / activist activities to participate in as a group around the city.
Together, we'll look for ways to play with democracy though Policy, Advocacy, Volunteering, and Civic Discourse. Some members may be interested in exploring all of those avenues - some only one of the two.
Either way, this is the place to find comradery, a network, and even some friendly mutual accountability for your journey.
Monthly Structure 🗓️
1) Citizen Discussion - a biweekly topic for discussion around what it means to be a citizen, how we can activate our highest selves together, how we might choose to organize our society together. We'll also explore timely campaign and/or policy conversations together.
Please join the #i-civics slack channel to suggest or volunteer to lead any civic discussion that resonate with you.
2) Monthly Socials - Once a month we will host a social to bring together civically-minded people, brainstorm future discussion topics and pitch various volunteering opportunities that month.
