RUST FOR CIVIC TECH

​This talk walks through building a full civic data platform in Rust, from scraping parliamentary records, to structuring that data through typed pipelines, exposing it via a CLI for ad-hoc queries, and wiring it up as an MCP server so AI assistants can reason over it directly. Every layer is production Rust: real HTML parsing, real async pipelines, real tooling that runs in anger against messy, inconsistent public data
