About Event

AI is already in your students' hands. From research, we know educators need support so that you can support your students better.

The new curriculum has introduced an insurmountable pressure and work on educators. The series of workshop aims to bring you a fresh way of thinking in such that, you will leverage AI tech to amplify your productivity without drowning in endless paperwork.

You'll leave with practical strategies and guidance to elevate efficiency, and productivity.

This workshop is open to all secondary teachers.

This workshop focuses on strategies in assessing an authentic way, and how to leverage ethical AI to boost productivity.

Our facilitator and speaker


Dr Simon McCallum (Victoria University of Wellington) opens with how collaborative work with AI is reshaping what's possible in education - drawing on his research in AI and assessment, and his decade-long expert background at the University of Otago.

Benny Pan teaches Chemistry and Physics at Rototuna Senior High School in Hamilton. He completed a Master's in AI assisted Higher-order Thinking at AcademyEX in 2026, researching AI-augmented critical thinking in NCEA science. Through the Asia-Europe Foundation's EmpowerEd program, Benny has trained 38 educators across 18 countries in AI integration for teaching. He will guide you through hands-on AI practice relevant to your teaching.

During registration, we'll ask what topics you're most interested in exploring - whether that's AI in assessment, lesson planning, student use, or something specific to your subject area. I will do my best to tailor the workshop to your needs.
