This meetup we'll get to hear from Nick Halla, in a conversation moderated by Jessica Appelgren.
Nick is the Founder & CEO of GigaClimate which is a climate company builder focused on building and scaling companies to tackle global climate and sustainability opportunities. Nick has built his career leading sustainable technology development and commercialization. Nick joined Impossible Foods as its first employee and helped build the company from the ground up during his 11 years there. He held numerous senior executive roles at Impossible Foods including Chief Strategy Officer, SVP Retail, and SVP International.
Nick also helped build and sat on the Board of Kite Hill who make yogurt and cheese from almonds. In addition, Nick is an independent Board Director at InnerPlant where they are transforming farming by enabling crops to communicate with growers and at Hoxton Farms where they are cultivating irresistibly delicious fat ingredients.
We’ll discuss what it takes to launch and scale food and ag tech companies (early idea and product-market fit to commercialization, distribution, and growth). Drawing on Nick’s experience building Impossible Foods from the ground up and advising next-gen food and ag startups, the conversation will explore common pitfalls, inflection points, and what founders, operators, and investors often underestimate as companies move from innovation to impact.
