About Yesteryear
Yesteryear is a 2026 satirical psychological thriller novel by debut author Caro Claire Burke that explores the dark side of online influencer culture.
Natalie lives a traditional lifestyle – and her followers are sick with envy. Her charming farmhouse on her working ranch is artfully cluttered, her husband is a handsome cowboy, her homemade sourdough boules are each more beautiful than the last. So what if there are nannies and producers and industrial-grade ovens behind the scenes? What her followers don’t know won’t hurt them.
Then, one morning, Natalie wakes up in a strange, horrible version of reality. Her home, her husband, her children—they’re all familiar, but something’s off. Is this a hoax? A reality show? A test from God? Natalie knows just two things for sure: this isn't her perfect life, and she must escape, by any means possible.
As darkly funny as it is shocking and gripping, Yesteryear is an electrifying examination of tradition, fame, faith and the grand performance of womanhood, from a thrilling new talent in fiction.
About The Salon
The Salon has been changing arts and culture for hundreds of years, gathering interesting creatives around a table to discuss art, books, science and more. For Pink Poodle Society, The Salon is the backbone of everything we do: bringing creatives together to connect, grow and find their people.
With each edition, you'll have a host taking our salon principles and turning it into an evening of their own, where they will gather around a table of a curated crowd to discuss a book, movie, art, provocation and more.
Pink Poodle Society Salon Principles
At each edition you can expect special attention to connection by the following principles:
We start each session with an introduction of each guest
There is a host who is there to lead conversation, mediate and drive connection
We take etiquette very seriously. While debates are always welcome, we expect our guests to remain respectful of their differences in opinions and/or beliefs
Each session is based on something; a book, a movie, artworks, provocation or more and The Salon can take many formats, as long as discussion & connection are at its core
If the guest is not familiar with the context of The Salon, we do never shame them, but rather catch them up on the context as best as possible
This is an open and welcoming space. With the host, we work very hard to keep it that way for all guests involved
The guest list is curated - there is a short questionnaire at sign-up that allows our host to curate the group.
Seats are limited, upon request and members of Pink Poodle Society receive priority booking
