​Special Screening of The Librarians

​The New Jersey Public Education Coalition and the Hanover Township Democratic Club invite you to a special screening of The Librarians, a powerful documentary examining the growing nationwide movement to censor books, restrict access to information, and target librarians who defend the freedom to read.

​The film follows librarians on the front lines of efforts to remove books from public and school libraries and explores the personal and professional consequences they face for standing up for intellectual freedom, inclusive education, and the right of every reader to see themselves represented in literature.

​Following the screening, attendees are invited to remain for a special question-and-answer discussion featuring:

​Audrey Wilson-Youngblood
A Texas librarian featured in The Librarians, who will share her firsthand experiences confronting book censorship and defending access to information.

​Michael A. Gottesman, Esq. (Ret.)
Founder of the New Jersey Public Education Coalition, an organization dedicated to protecting and strengthening public education throughout New Jersey.

Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Livingston and an advocate for civic engagement, voter education, and informed community participation.
