Cold Read: Scenes from the Dark
COLD READ is open mic night, but acting.
You show up, you pick up a page, and you read. No preparation beforehand, no experience needed, no pressure to be good at it. Just a room full of people who love stories — some who want to read them out loud, and some who just want to watch.
For our first edition, we're going dark.
Scenes from the Dark is broad by design. Yes, it's spooky season, but darkness isn't just jump scares and ghosts. It's grief, secrets, things left unsaid, and the quietly terrifying. If it unsettles you in any way, it belongs here. Scripts are drawn from plays, films, and TV shows spanning horror, haunting, and everything in between. Classic and contemporary, iconic and underrated.
PAY WHAT YOU CAN
Cold Read is a community event. Not a profit venture. Whatever you bring in goes toward the basics: logistics, equipment, and the effort that makes a night like this happen. There's no minimum and no pressure. Your attendance is confirmed the moment you register. When you're ready to contribute, you'll find the details in the registration form.
HOW IT WORKS
Register ahead to save your spot.
The script list drops on October 15 — that's your window to dibs a scene early. Early dibs is one scene per person.
Remaining slots open on the night, first come first served (up to 3 scenes total per person).
Or just come to watch. That's just as valid.
No prep needed. You'll be reading cold, right there in the room.
Open to all experience levels. Ages 16+ recommended.

Founded in 2014, 2TinCans Philippines Inc. is Cebu's premier theatre and communications company — built on the belief that theatre should entertain, educate, and empower.
