Is This Good Law? Verifying AI-Generated Legal Research

AI-generated legal research is becoming harder to avoid - but how do you know when to trust it, and how do you check it?
This hands-on session looks at how legal and policy teams can verify AI-generated legal research, assessing it against authoritative sources to find errors, hallucinations, or to see if better authorities exist.
Through a live worked example on a realistic government scenario, Thomson Reuters and Bartier Perry will share practical perspectives and demonstrate how to approach AI-assisted legal advice with confidence. The session will open with a practitioner's perspective on handling AI-generated legal advice, followed by a live demonstration of CoCounsel, a professional-grade verification tool. Participants will then have the opportunity to try the workflows themselves, ask questions, and exchange perspectives with others from across sectors.
