​What will be the discussion about?

​Olivier Lauras is an HD member since 2021 has he was one of the few person to attend our first France Design Week event. Since then, he joined the community, volunteered on some of our projects and, lately, he completed a second degree on design & innovation with his thesis "Power dynamics within design - toward craft relationships of power-in-common": a program composed of several mediation tools designed for collectives of designers, aimed at revealing and strengthening their collective power to act.

​Olivier is currently co-organising the programme of our next two-day workshop in Paris (26-27 Sept) that is called "Designs & Oppressions". For two days, we’ll create a space to interrogate the forms of oppression embedded in our design practices, examine our own positions, and question the systems we are working within. The ambition isn't to “design better” within these very systems, but to start thinking about how we might design outside of them.
