Port of Seattle Tour with Seattle Women in Climate (SWiC)
What to expect...Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the Port of Seattle's shore power in action, the system that lets cruise ships plug in and switch off their engines at the dock, cutting emissions right on our working waterfront! Port of Seattle will take us on a two-hour guided tour of the energy and transportation infrastructure at downtown Seattle piers.
After the tour we would love for you to join us at Here Today Brewery & Kitchen to continue the conversation and to enjoy some snacks and drinks.
Transportation: Several bus lines stop just above Pier 69 on 3rd Ave near Pike Place (Rapid C,E & D lines to name a few). Both the Light Rail 1 and 2 lines stop at Westlake Station, a short walk up the hill. If you're coming from West Seattle, the Water Taxi lands about a 25-minute walk away from Pier 69. There is also a bike trail that goes straight up to the pier. Parking is available a short walk away at a number of Pike Place garages, for a fee.
Important Information: Please bring photo ID to the event, which the Port requires to check in all attendees, and arrive ~15 minutes prior to 10am for check-in. This event is outdoors and near the water, and weather-permitting (light rain won't stop us, but we won't ask you to stand outside in a downpour!). Dress for the weather and wear close-toed shoes. Any additional PPE will be provided on site. The address for the Pier 69 front office is 2711 Alaskan Way.
