Walking Meditation
Walking meditation is a simple practice that can be brought into everyday life—anytime, anywhere, with no special planning or preparation. Join us to learn how walking can become more than a way to get from one place to another: a practice for settling the mind, caring for the body, and bringing greater awareness into daily life.
Who: This will be led by Dharma Drum Meditation Center volunteers. Everyone is welcome, including:
meditators and non-meditators
people curious about mindfulness or Chan/Zen
people who feel they don’t have time to meditate
people who think "meditation is not for me"
people who sit too much and walk too little
What: We’ll start by going over the basic principles of walking meditation. Then we’ll alternate between periods of silent walking and short breaks for sharing and discussion. Questions are welcome throughout, and you’ll have a chance to try different methods.
