NO RSVP NEEDED — MEMBER DROP-IN EVENT

Join us at Sansaar Books for a private member screening of Writing with Fire, the 2021 documentary by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh.

Writing with Fire follows the reporters of Khabar Lahariya, India’s only newspaper run by Dalit women, as they move from print to smartphones and take on caste violence, police failures, and corruption in Uttar Pradesh. Led by chief reporter Meera Devi, they report on stories no one else will cover, while dealing with threats and pressure at home. The film won two awards at Sundance and was the first Indian feature documentary nominated for an Oscar.
