About Event

Reflections about 25 years on sustainability and climate change impacts, and looking forward at the next 25 years, with some of the founding members of the Pacific Youth Environment Network (PYEN). The inaugural PYEN event held in 2001 was sponsored by the United Nations Environment Program and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Program.

This 2026 Climate Action Week event brings together experts in investment, policy, community engagement, energy, education and innovation - an intergenerational dialogue at a critical time in the lead up to COP31 - for which Australia and the Pacific are joining to shape the international roadmap.

Panelists include:

Sharona Coutts: lawyer in the climate and carbon industry, connecting finance with nature. Founding member PYEN.

Andrew Stanton: Co-founder of PYEN, economic policy specialist and first nations engagement.

Susan Moylan-Coombes: Associate Professor, TD School, UTS

Raymond Unasi: Deputy Chair, National Energy Authority Board, PNG. Founding member PYEN.

Viisti Dickens: Sustainability, social impact and governance Director, consultant and UTS sessional academic and Founding member PYEN.

Additional Australian and Pacific panel speakers including the Hon Matt Keane, Adjunct Professor UTS and Chair, Climate Change Authority.

Proudly partnering with Pasifika Program, UTS Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion, and Transdisciplinary (TD) School.
