Beyond CO₂: Scaling Market Incentives for Super Pollutant Abatement
Beyond CO₂: Scaling Market Incentives for Super Pollutant Abatement
Organized by the Carbon Containment Lab & Mitti Labs
Super pollutants—including methane, nitrous oxide, HFCs, and black carbon—are warming agents far more potent than carbon dioxide. Despite the short atmospheric lifespans of many super pollutants, their emissions have caused half of today's warming. Thus, the rapid reduction of these emissions can help slow warming and improve air quality as a co-benefit.
This event focuses on market-driven super pollutant abatement as a high-impact lever for climate change mitigation. Beyond science and policy, we will discuss voluntary carbon markets and other market incentives as opportunities to drive high-quality, science-based reduction projects. With a focus on multi-sector collaboration and actionable outcomes, the event will gather a wide range of stakeholders, including leading project developers, buyers, and ecosystem partners.
