About the Event
Voluntary carbon markets are at an inflection point.
Demand for high-integrity carbon credits is rising, alongside growing scrutiny of what “integrity” means in practice. Yet women play a central role in delivering and sustaining many community-based and nature-based carbon projects, while the value they generate—and the benefits they receive—are still too often treated as a narrative add-on rather than a verifiable dimension of project integrity.
Emerging evidence points to a different approach: when women derive meaningful and verifiable value from their participation, carbon projects can be better positioned to deliver, sustain, and demonstrate their mitigation claims.
Tracking and pricing gender co-benefits should therefore not be viewed as a parallel impact agenda. It is part of the integrity question itself.
This stakeholder dialogue will bring together leaders across the carbon market ecosystem to explore how gender co-benefits are being measured, verified, valued, and financed—and what needs to change for carbon markets to fully recognize inclusion as a driver of integrity.
