

Public Lecture with Reem Shaikh
Berkeley Muslim Life is hosting Ustadha Reem Shaikh, one of our three finalists for the Director of Muslim Life opening, for a public lecture on the topic of 'Navigating Our Place in America as Muslims'.
Ustadha Reem Shaikh, born and raised in Houston, completed the memorization of the Quran at the age of seven and later studied Arabic in Egypt. She earned a bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies from the College of Sharia at Qatar University and a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, where she also served as the Muslim Chaplain at Boston University. Additionally, Reem holds an ijazah in the 10 variant Quranic recitations and has taught at Guidance College. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at the University of Texas in Austin, specializing in the history of Islamic fiqh.
