Culture Club: Triad Trails Walking Tour and Dinner
Culture Club Triad Trails Walking Tour and Dinner
On Saturday, 28 November, Culture Club is venturing into the darker, grittier side of Singapore's history.
Join us for Triad Trails, a specialist walking tour through Chinatown's hidden alleys, exploring the secret societies, gang rivalries and underground networks that once shaped Singapore.
What makes this tour particularly unusual? Our guide is a former gang member himself. Organised by social enterprise Architects of Life, the tour combines historical insights with first-hand accounts of gang life, rehabilitation and second chances — perspectives rarely encountered on conventional heritage tours.
Culture Club has arranged a private tour exclusively for our community, followed by an optional dinner at Spring Court, one of Singapore's oldest Chinese restaurants.
The tour has received excellent reviews, with past participants praising the guides' knowledge and engaging storytelling. For a closer look, read CNA's feature on former gang member and Triad Trails guide Alvin Chiong.
Please note: This event requires a minimum of 10 people to proceed. Registrations will remain pending until the minimum is reached. Payment will only be collected once the event is confirmed and your registration approved. A temporary card authorisation hold may apply when registering.

Dinner
After the tour, we'll head to Spring Court Chinese Restaurant (詠春園), a Chinatown institution dating back to 1929, for an optional dinner.
We'll dine Chinese banquet-style, sharing dishes ordered together at the table. The total bill will be split equally among dinner attendees at the end of the meal. Drinks will be paid separately.
Dinner is optional and is not included in the S$72 tour ticket. We only have 10 dinner seats, so please indicate whether you intend to join us when registering. As this is a social gathering, preference may be given to guests attending both the tour and dinner.
Please inform the organiser and restaurant staff of any dietary requirements or allergies before ordering.
As dishes are prepared in a shared kitchen and served communally, guests with allergies or medically significant dietary restrictions should be aware that cross-contact cannot be guaranteed.
About Culture Club
Culture Club hosts salon-style gatherings inspired by the Enlightenment, spanning film, food, literature, art, music, history, philosophy, and the occasional mild absurdity.
Our events are culture-led social gatherings, designed to help people meet through a shared subject or experience. They are not business networking or dating events.
Though we grew from a cross-school alumni audience, you do not need to be an alumnus of any particular university — or an alumnus at all — to attend.
Our crowd spans a wide range of industries and backgrounds. Many guests are working professionals, with others coming through informal international university and alumni networks.
Registrations are curated to maintain a curious, thoughtful and socially generous guest mix.
