​How do archives shape our understanding of art history? Through photographs, letters, manuscripts, exhibition materials, and other rare documents, this talk explores the life and legacy of pioneering Singapore artist Shui Tit Sing (1914–1997) from a fresh perspective.

​Artist, archivist, and curator Koh Nguang How will share insights from years of research, revealing lesser-known stories behind Shui Tit Sing’s artistic journey—from his formative years at the Hangzhou National Art Academy to his contributions as a painter, sculptor, educator, and photographer in Singapore.

​More than a biographical study, this talk examines how archives help us reconstruct artistic networks, cultural exchanges, and the making of Singapore’s modern art history.
