About Event

As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms economies, politics, and daily life, a central question has emerged: who should be responsible for ensuring its safe and ethical development?

Some argue that AI companies, driven by innovation and expertise, are best positioned to regulate themselves and adapt quickly to emerging risks. Others warn that leaving such powerful technologies in private hands without oversight invites abuse, bias, and unintended consequences at scale.

At stake is not just technological progress, but public trust, democratic accountability, and the broader social impact of AI systems.

Join us for a live Oxford-style debate on the resolution:
“AI companies cannot be trusted to manage themselves; thus we need government interference to protect public interest.”
