WANAKAM MOVIE NIGHTS: UNSTOPPABLE (रुके न जो) — Film Screening, Dinner & Live Director Q&A
Join us in the living room for an evening of vital independent cinema, grassroots storytelling, and urgent dialogue. We are deeply honored to host the Amsterdam screening of Ruke Na Jo (Unstoppable), followed by an intimate, live conversation with the filmmaker, Prateek Shekhar.
About the Film
Against the backdrop of India’s monumental general elections, Ruke Na Jo takes us straight to the dust and grit of Nalanda, Bihar. The documentary follows Sandeep Saurav, a 37-year-old leader from the leftist CPI(ML) party, mobilizing a passionate campaign under the INDIA alliance.
Operating with severely limited resources but backed by an unwavering collective determination, Saurav’s campaign bypasses political theater to focus on what truly matters: systemic unemployment, skyrocketing prices, and the protection of fundamental democratic rights.
This isn't a glossy political drama. It is a raw, door-to-door journey into the heart of political activism. It serves as a powerful reminder that the fight for leadership on the margins is not simply about acquiring institutional power—it is a deeper, relentless struggle for a collective voice.
Special Guest: Director Prateek Shekhar
We are thrilled to have director Prateek Shekhar live in the space. He will be opening the evening with a brief introduction to frame the film's journey and staying after the screening for an open community Q&A and dialogue. This is a rare opportunity to engage directly with independent political filmmaking from the subcontinent.
