Your Story Is Your Strategy: Thought Leadership, Founder-Led Marketing, and Sales for Early-Stage Startups

As an early-stage founder, you are your company's most powerful marketing asset. But how do you turn your expertise into visibility, trust, and pipeline... without a big budget or a full marketing team?

In this session, Anita Chauhan, fractional CMO and podcast host will break down how founders can use thought leadership and founder-led marketing to generate real leads and close early sales. You'll learn how to shape your story, build credibility on LinkedIn, and turn your presence into pipeline, especially when you're the one doing the selling.

Whether you're trying to land your first customers, warm up cold outreach, or figure out what to actually post, this session will give you a practical framework to get moving.

You'll walk away with:

  • How to shape your founder story into something that resonates with buyers

  • A practical approach to LinkedIn for B2B lead generation

  • How to use content to warm up prospects and start sales conversations

  • Founder-led sales and marketing tactics that work when you don't have a team

  • Real examples of early-stage founders turning visibility into revenue

About the Speaker

Anita Chauhan is a fractional CMO and marketing mentor who helps early-stage founders find clarity in their story, confidence in their marketing, and traction on real-world budgets. With 10+ years across AI, fintech, SaaS, healthtech, and DEI, she's been the first marketer at multiple startups—building positioning, GTM strategy, and brand foundations from scratch.

She hosts Looks Good on Paper, a podcast challenging outdated hiring practices and championing skills-based hiring, and leads Brand & Thought Leadership at Willo. Anita is also the founder of Infraction, a community for fractional executives, and Toronto Chapter Lead for Led By Community.

As a YSpace mentor across the Tech Accelerator, Ella Ascend, and The Forum, she's helped founders refine their customer segments, identify high-value opportunities, and build go-to-market strategies that drive real growth. She's here to help you figure out who you're really talking to, what to say, and where to show up.
