🎭 Synopsis of the Play
June lives by herself in Southern California. And living by yourself in California is hard: especially when you are without a car, a cat, or the kind of job that gives you a green card- and on top of that- your only friends are a couple now. What June does have is a pretty fucking bougie couch, a handsome fantasy K-pop idol boyfriend who lives inside her head…and of course, a lot of fear of missing out. Will she make it through year 22?
🎭 About the Playwright
Mingxi Sam Sun is a writer, director and actor originally from Shanghai. Sam’s artistic practice is rooted in a belief that theatre is a fundamentally human and communal act and her works engage stories and processes that seek to honor that ethos. But also most of what she does now is writing about messy frustrated Asian women in America. She went to UCI Drama and is currently an MFA candidate at NYU Tisch.
