Greenwich Village Art Stars Workshop 3
Introducing Greenwich Village Art Stars! Do you know an art enthusiast ages 9–11? Then we’ve got the perfect art class for you!
Workshop 3 - Summer Sketchbook
Led by artist Laura Loving (www.StudioLauraLoving.com), this workshop brings together young creatives in 4th through 6th grade for a focused, art-filled two-hour adventure. Each student will leave with a sketchbook and a plan to fill it with art throughout the summer.
Students will learn how artists use sketchbooks to collect ideas, record memories, and explore their creativity. Together we'll create the first pages of a personalized sketchbook and discover ways to fill it throughout the summer with drawings, paintings, collages, photographs, observations, and creative experiments.
Students will be encouraged to use a variety of materials including pencils, colored pencils, markers, watercolor, acrylic paint, paint markers, collage materials, stickers, and more. They'll learn to find inspiration everywhere—from family vacations, a trip to the grocery store, favorite people and places to nature, logos, signs, characters they see and everyday objects.
