The Layered Web: Desirable Properties of a Meta-Layer – Community Review Draft and Governance Feedback Workflow
Join us for a public milestone marking the two-year anniversary of the Meta-Layer Initiative kickoff, where Vint Cerf challenged the community to define the desirable properties of a meta-layer.
At this session, we will share the Community Review Draft of The Layered Web: Desirable Properties of a Meta-Layer, now organized around 24 Desirable Properties, and demonstrate the emerging governance, patching, feedback, and update workflow that will guide the path toward Version 1.0.
Beyond the book, this is the launch of a participatory review process: inviting researchers, builders, civic technologists, Internet governance participants, educators, youth leaders, and aligned communities to help refine the properties, propose improvements, and explore how a trustworthy meta-layer can be governed in the open.
September 16 is the moment we open this next phase publicly. Version 1.0 is targeted for November 13, following structured community review and synthesis.
