Tin Men Founders School: Media Preparation for B2B Tech Startups
Event Overview
Many B2B tech founders naturally focus on product development, sales, hiring, and fundraising, with PR and media engagement often taking a back seat. However, the most successful companies recognise that visibility, credibility, and effective storytelling can be powerful drivers of growth.
As the startup ecosystem becomes increasingly competitive, the ability to represent your company confidently and navigate media interactions effectively is often what differentiates a good founder from an exceptional one.
This session will provide practical guidance on how founders can approach PR strategically, engage with the media more effectively, and tell their company's story with greater impact.
The programme will also include a live interview teardown, offering attendees an inside look at how media interviews are conducted and how founders can strengthen their messaging, storytelling, and interview skills.
This is for B2B tech founders and operators who want to:
Develop a stronger and more compelling company narrative
Understand what journalists look for in startup stories
Handle media interviews with greater confidence
Build credibility with customers, investors, partners, and talent
Expect insights on:
🔹 The modern media landscape
🔹 How tier-one media select stories and the rules of media engagement
🔹 Developing a compelling company story
🔹 Practical interview techniques and media engagement tips
Who You'll Hear From
Chester is Managing Partner of ACID, a senior-only, partner-led strategic communications consultancy based in Singapore. ACID works with founders and leaders at disruptive companies across fintech, enterprise technology, and finance, providing direct C-suite counsel on communications, brand building, and reputation management.
ACID's senior-only model was built as a deliberate alternative to the network agency structure, with senior comms leaders providing both strategic counsel and hands-on execution rather than the bloated retainers and junior offloading that define the traditional model. Chester founded ACID in 2025 after leading communications at regional fintech Lendela and, before that, leading strategic communications for global fintech and digital asset companies at the American comms advisory firm Wachsman. His career spans advertising, brand management, journalism, and corporate communications, with a specific focus on helping early-stage founders in complex, multi-stakeholder environments articulate their narrative with intention.
His perspective on the role of communications has been featured in Tech in Asia, Marketing Interactive, PRovoke Media, Campaign Asia, and Branding in Asia.
👋 Hope to see you there!
