Climate-Resilient Cities: Insurance and Investment in Urban Resilience, with Howden and TheCityUK
Seeking expressions of interest from senior (c-suite, director-level) individuals from businesses, NGOs, and government to join a ~20-person strategic roundtable in the UNFCCC Blue Zone. Spots are limited so an early RSVP is recommended.
Cities are where climate risk hits hardest.
Floods, heatwaves and storms are damaging homes, energy networks, water and transport more often, and at greater cost. Yet too much new infrastructure is still built for yesterday’s climate.
The message for COP31 is simple: don’t just build infrastructure, build infrastructure that stays resilient, insurable and investable over its lifetime.
Hosted by Howden, REA and TheCityUK, in partnership with the Resilient Cities Network, this roundtable brings insurers, investors, city leaders and policymakers together to explore how insurance, finance and public policy can make urban resilience investable at scale, and how we start rewarding resilience rather than just paying for the damage.
