Nature's Secret Service: Telling the Stories of Wildlife Law Enforcement

​Ed Newcomer is a decorated law enforcement professional and lawyer who served as a special agent with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for over 20 years. While an agent, he focused on international trafficking and his investigations touched on every continent, including Antarctica. He served as the deputy agent in charge of the Southern California District for eight years, where he oversaw the investigative program in one of the busiest and most populated law enforcement districts in the country. Between 2015 and 2020, he served as the law enforcement attaché for Southern Africa, the senior diplomatic representative for the US Fish and Wildlife Service in nine African countries. Most recently, he conducted the research and collected the data discussed in the Primates for Purchase report.
