Session 2 - Track C: Who gets the Sun? Equity and Access in a Solar-powered World + Plenary

​For Pakistan’s distributed solar, the central question is no longer scale, but who gets to participate and benefit from it, and how the value of the transition is distributed across society.

​In this session, the experts will examine equity as a design requirement of a solar-aligned power system. Drawing on international experience, from cooperative ownership models to community solar and mini-grid approaches, the discussion will explore how system planning, market participation, and financing structures can embed just and broad participation into the next phase of Pakistan’s solar transition while ensuring social, economic, and climate co-benefits while strengthening long-term system resilience.
