Research Computing on AWS, Governed: Live Demo with RosettaHub
In this one-hour live session, see how RosettaHub gives researchers the computing they need on AWS, with access, budgets and costs controlled project by project.
Beyond desktops and HPC, we'll show every way to work with the platform: the browser, the AWS console and CLI, APIs, an MCP server for AI assistants and agents, and a chat built into the portal.
What we'll demonstrate
Research environments in the browser: Linux and Windows desktops, Jupyter, RStudio, VS Code and HPC clusters.
Shared data and software: shared file systems and project software environments, with institutional single sign-on and project roles that principal investigators manage themselves.
A budget per project: a dedicated AWS account and budget for each project, enforced in near real time, AI workloads included.
AI under control: Amazon Bedrock models allowed per role, with token costs charged to the project budget.
Every way in, governed the same way: work with the platform through the chat built into the portal; connect MCP-compatible assistants and agents through the MCP server; automate and integrate with institutional systems through the APIs.
Built to scale: RosettaHub is a distributed, event-driven platform that we run for you. Growing workloads, teams and projects need nothing installed, patched or scaled on your side.
Collaboration and grant costs: work with collaborators at other institutions, with costs attributed to individual grants.
Moving from Research and Engineering Studio
For teams using AWS Research and Engineering Studio, we'll also cover a practical migration approach, one project at a time, ahead of support ending in September 2027.
Who should attend
Research computing, HPC and research IT leads; principal investigators and lab managers; research finance teams; and teams bringing AI and automation into research computing.
