​​Join us as we celebrate the ideas, people and partnerships shaping the future of healthcare. For one evening, the Perth Biodesign Showcase brings together our entire ecosystem: clinicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, government representatives, investors and friends to see what happens when real clinical needs meet bold ideas.
​​You’ll hear the stories behind breakthrough ideas emerging from this year’s Flagship program, meet the teams turning unmet clinical needs into technologies, and reconnect with the alumni and mentors driving change across our health system (and beyond).
​​This year's Flagship cohort is presenting their work publicly for the first time: medical devices and diagnostic tools addressing heart failure, allergies, asthma and IVF.
​​This is where Western Australia's health innovation community gathers: the innovators building new technologies, clinicians who understand the patient need, investors backing breakthrough ideas, and industry leaders building the companies that will scale them.
​​A proud satellite event of Australia's largest and longest-running tech festival, West Tech Fest.
​​What you'll experience:
​​Live presentations from our 2025 Flagship cohort showcasing their healthcare innovations, direct conversations with founders who've already raised funding and launched ventures, and access to the broader Perth Biodesign 800+ alumni network and broader community of leaders across health, startups, scale-ups, government and academia.
​​The track record:
​​Since 2016, Perth Biodesign alumni have developed 30+ new technologies and raised tens of millions of dollars.
​​Below is an example of some of the companies born at or founded by alumni, and some of their recent successes:
​• ​VeinTech: US$750,000 grant to open their US office (June 2025) and co-founder Nik Bappoo awarded a Prime Minister's Prize
​• ​VitalTrace: fetal monitoring device touted as 'absolute revolution' by the ABC (July 2025)
​• ​Earflo: Times Magazine Best Inventions of 2025, and Best of Innovation in Digital Health for CES (November 2025)
​• ​Matilda Health: WA Innovators of the Year Award Finalist (November 2025)
​• ​Pretect Devices: $500k to support the commercialisation of Vedette® - their continuous monitoring device for critically ill babies (December 2025)
