The inner work that makes connection possible

About Event

Not feeling seen heard and understood in any relationship can be the loneliest experience, whether it's with a parent, a colleague, a friend, a family member or your partner.

And brushing all the hard stuff under the rug creates a bumpy rug!

There's a lot of stuff going on in the world right now that's hard to talk about.

Being able to have these hard conversations, whether it's about your relationship, money, health, religion, politics or the state of the world, is the difference between feeling connected and alone.

Before you even open your mouth, your body has already tightened. Your mind has already picked a side. And the story you're carrying into the room has already decided how it ends.

Hard conversations don't only fail in the moment, they fail in how you prepare (or don't).

Preparation changes everything. When you walk in grounded, open, and clear on what you actually need, the conversation has somewhere to go.

This workshop is a guided exploration of the energetics and inner work of preparing for a hard conversation, so that when the moment comes, you're already in capacity.

What You'll Experience:

🧠 A clear framework for preparing your mind, body, and heart before the conversation begins

🌊 Somatic tools for recognizing and releasing the stories driving defensiveness before you enter the room

🪞 How to move from a fixed, defensive mindset into genuine openness and curiosity

🤝 Consent as an energetic practice — how to request a conversation in a way that opens rather than closes possibilities

💬 Practical anchoring techniques for staying present and in capacity when things feel uncomfortable

What to Expect:

🔥 A warm, grounded space to explore one of life's most essential relational skills

📖 Prompts, frameworks, and honest discussion

🎶 Gentle soundscapes to support your reflection

💫 Tools you can use immediately in your partnerships, friendships, and family relationships

🗣️ A space to listen and be heard

Who This Is For:

  • Anyone who goes quiet when things get hard — or who comes out swinging and wonders why conversations always end in conflict.

  • People who want deeper, more honest relationships and sense that something needs to shift in how they prepare.

  • Couples, friends, colleagues, and anyone doing the work of growing into more conscious connection.

Come ready to do the inner work so the conversation has a chance.

Facilitators:

Matt Hilliard & Carina Reeves - Relationship coaches who know that the quality of your relationships is determined by the quality of your hardest conversations. They bring somatic awareness, energetic tools, and practical frameworks to help you walk into the room ready.
