Artificial intelligence is advancing at a unprecedented pace. Most researchers believe it could soon surpass human intelligence in nearly every domain—creating an Artificial Superintelligence, or ASI.
These systems could help address some of humanity’s greatest challenges. But they could also concentrate enormous power, deepen loneliness and inequality, escape meaningful human control or, in the worst case, threaten humanity’s survival.
How should Christians understand and respond to this uncertain future?
Together, we’ll explore questions such as:
Who will control increasingly powerful AI—and whose values will guide it?
Could advanced AI lead to human extinction or other catastrophic outcomes?
How might AI reshape our work, relationships, freedom and communities?
How can Christians approach AI with wisdom, courage and hope rather than fear or passivity?
What would it look like to help shape a future in which AI technology truly serves God and our neighbors?
Join Pastor Chris Fukunaga—author, missiologist and futurist—and AI risk experts from the AI Safety Awareness Project for an accessible and thought-provoking conversation about artificial superintelligence and the future of humanity.
We’ll bring the latest thinking from AI safety into dialogue with Scripture and Christian teachings about human dignity, stewardship, wisdom and trust in God. Faith does not require us to ignore danger or leave the future to others. It can give us the grounding to ask difficult questions, act responsibly and help discern where AI development should—and should not—go.
Come curious, concerned, hopeful or skeptical. Everyone is welcome, and no technical background is needed.
The conversation will continue after the event through a series of optional small-group Bible studies on AI, faith and building a better future.
